Mobile Clearance allows pilots to electronically receive IFR clearance information from Air Traffic Control (ATC) using ForeFlight Mobile. Instead of obtaining a departure clearance by radio, pilots can request, receive, and acknowledge clearances directly within the ForeFlight Mobile application while the aircraft is on the ground.
ForeFlight Mobile Clearance supplements existing ATC voice procedures. Voice communication remains available whenever electronic communication cannot be completed or when directed by ATC.

ForeFlight Mobile Clearance supports the following capabilities:
- Request an IFR departure clearance.
- Receive original and amended clearances.
- Accept or reject a clearance.
- Receive Contact Me messages from ATC.
- View a history of Mobile Clearance transactions.
To use ForeFlight Mobile Clearance:
- File an eligible IFR flight plan through ForeFlight.
- Use ForeFlight Mobile to retrieve the clearance.
- Ensure the aircraft is on the ground.
- Establish a Mobile Clearance session.
- Maintain an active Internet connection.
