ForeFlight Dispatch includes an option for Discretionary Fuel within the EASA Commercial Reserve Fuel Policy. This option can be selected for individual flights or set as the default Reserve Policy for an aircraft. Discretionary Fuel complies with EASA's updated Fuel Schema (CAT.OP.MPA.181), effective October 30, 2022, allowing commanders to include additional fuel if required.
Selecting the EASA Commercial Reserve Policy with Discretionary Fuel for a Flight
To select the EASA Commercial Reserve Policy with Discretionary Fuel for a Flight, do the following:
- In ForeFlight Dispatch, select Dispatch from the navigation column.
- Select Flights in the upper-right corner.
- Select Edit next to the flight to apply the Discretionary Fuel category.
- In the Advanced Fuel Options section, open the Reserve Policy dropdown menu.
- Choose EASA Commercial to display the Discretionary Fuel field.

Setting the EASA Commercial Reserve Policy as the default for an Aircraft
To set the EASA Commercial Reserve Policy (with Discretionary Fuel) as default for an aircraft, do the following:
- Select Aircraft from the navigation column.
- Choose the aircraft to apply EASA Commercial as the default reserve policy.
- In the Fuel Section, open the Reserve Policy dropdown menu.
- Select EASA Commercial to enable Discretionary Fuel as part of the default policy.
The aircraft's default Reserve Policy is set to EASA Commercial.
