ForeFlight uses the following color scheme to convey flight categories on the Maps and Airports views:

VFR (Visual Flight Rules): The ceiling is greater than 3,000 feet AGL and visibility is greater than 5 miles. This includes clear skies. |

MVFR (Marginal Visual Flight Rules): The ceiling is between 1,000 and 3,000 feet AGL, or visibility is between 3 to 5 miles. |

|
IFR (Instrument Flight Rules): The ceiling is between 500 and less than 1,000 feet AGL or visibility is 1 to less than 3 miles. |
|
|
LIFR (Low Instrument Flight Rules): The ceiling is less than 500 feet AGL, or visibility is less than 1 mile. |

|
Unknown: Weather conditions are unknown. |
