The Sidebar in the Airports view and the header above a METAR in the Weather tab display the age of the most recent meteorological aerodrome report (METAR) for an airport. ForeFlight color-codes these age values as follows:
- Green: METAR is 0–4 minutes old.
- Blue: METAR is 5–59 minutes old.
- Orange: METAR is 60–89 minutes old.
- Red: METAR is more than 90 minutes old.
These colors provide a quick visual reference to assess how current the weather data is.
NOTE: METAR age color-coding is separate from other colorized weather data in ForeFlight. Different schemes are used for flight categories, winds aloft, and forecast ages (e.g., TAFs, MOS). Consult the ForeFlight Mobile Pilot's Guide for details on interpreting other color-coded information.
