To display graphical NOTAMs on the Maps page in ForeFlight Mobile, the following criteria must be met:
- The NOTAM map layer must be enabled.
- The NOTAM must be within two hours of becoming active.
- The NOTAM type must be graphically supported.
Enabling the NOTAMs Map Layer
To enable the NOTAMs map layer:
- Open ForeFlight Mobile.
- Go to the Maps page.
- From the drop-down in the upper left, select the NOTAMs layer.
NOTAM Active Time
NOTAMs are not shown on the Maps page until the NOTAM is within two hours of becoming active.
Supported NOTAM Types
Only certain NOTAMs are supported graphically in ForeFlight Mobile. The types supported are:
- Airspace NOTAMs
- Airspace Restriction NOTAMs
- Warning NOTAMs
- Other NOTAMs (Obstacles and Obstacle Lights)
When obtaining a PDF briefing in ForeFlight Mobile, the NOTAM code will be listed (if available) in the NOTAM description. If the code type in the description matches one of the types in the tables below, then the NOTAM is supported graphically. It will not be shown if it is not of the type listed in one of the tables below.
Location of NOTAM Codes in a PDF Briefing
The tables in this section list those NOTAM types graphically supported in ForeFlight Mobile. NOTAMs formatted in the ICAO standard are classified by:
- Type
- Subtype
- Status
Each unique classification has an associated code. If a NOTAM has a code (prefaced with a Q) defined in a table, it will be available graphically in ForeFlight Mobile.
