The Garmin GDL-82 is an ADS-B Out device that lacks Bluetooth connectivity, preventing direct connection to ForeFlight Mobile. However, it integrates effectively with compatible ADS-B-In receivers, such as the Sentry ADS-B receivers.
ADS-B-In Integration
When paired with an ADS-B-In receiver connected to ForeFlight Mobile, the GDL-82 enables the display of:
- ADS-B Weather
- ADS-B Traffic
Installation Configuration
Ensure the GDL-82 is correctly configured during installation using the Garmin GDL 8X Install Tool (PC-based software). The following settings should be enabled:
- 1090 ES Receive Capable: Set to "Capable."
- UAT Receive Capable: Set to "Capable."
