Filed flight plans can be canceled in ForeFlight Mobile, provided the cancellation is outside the ATC lock-out window. The lock-out window is a set period of time defined by ATC, during which changes to the flight plan are no longer accepted. For more details about the lock-out period, refer to the following article:
When can IFR flight plans be filed, canceled, or amended?
IMPORTANT: ForeFlight Mobile cannot be used to cancel an IFR flight plan when operating at an uncontrolled airport. Canceling a flight plan in ForeFlight only updates the plan’s filing status from "Filed" to "Canceled" within the app.
Before canceling a flight plan, ensure the plan is on file. The status of the flight plan will display as "Filed" in the lower-left corner of the Flights screen.
