Yes, radar can animate in ForeFlight when using an ADS-B receiver, but sufficient frames must be received before animation is possible. Unlike internet radar, which retrieves frames in bulk from past to present, ADS-B radar loads frames progressively in real-time (every 5-15 minutes).
To animate ADS-B radar, open ForeFlight Mobile and select the Radar layer on the Maps page. ADS-B Radar data will start to be loaded. Once enough frames are received, the option to animate the radar will become available, building a loop up to a maximum of 30 minutes.
