Flight Instructors can endorse a ForeFlight logbook in person or remotely when the instructor and student are using ForeFlight Mobile.

Endorsing a Logbook in Person

To endorse a logbook in person on a student's device, follow these steps:

STEP 1. Open ForeFlight Mobile on the student's device.

STEP 2. Tap More.

STEP 3. Tap Logbook.  

STEP 4. On the Logbook page, scroll to the MENU section and tap Qualifications.  

STEP 5. Tap the Add New Qualification button in the upper right. A menu will be presented.

STEP 6. Select Endorsement. An endorsement popover will appear.

STEP 7. Fill in the endorsement fields. Use the Lookup button to find a pre-formatted endorsement.  

STEP 8. Select Add Instructor Signature. 

STEP 9. Select the instructor from the list. If the instructor is not listed, select the Add New Person button to add the instructor.

STEP 10. Select Sign Entry.

STEP 11. Sign the entry.

STEP 12. Select Done below the signature

STEP 13. Select Done in the Endorsement view. The endorsement will now be listed in the logbook.

Endorsing a Logbook Remotely

To endorse a logbook remotely, follow these steps:

STEP 1. Open ForeFlight Mobile on the instructor's device.

STEP 2. Tap More.

STEP 3. Tap Logbook.  

STEP 4. On the Logbook page, scroll to the MENU section and tap Instructor Tools.

STEP 5. Tap Digital Signature.

STEP 6. Fill in the fields and add a digital signature.

STEP 7. Select the Back button in the upper left. A remote endorsement can now be made.

STEP 8. Tap Endorsement Records to create a remote endorsement

STEP 9. Tap the New Endorsement button in the upper right corner.

STEP 10. Select the student from the list. Select the Add New Person button to add the student if the student is not listed.

STEP 11. Fill in the endorsement fields. Use the Lookup button to find a pre-formatted endorsement.

STEP 12. Tap Send Endorsement. 

The student will receive an in-app notification and an email that the endorsement has been sent. The endorsement will appear at the top of their logbook in the Drafts & Requests section. The student should then tap the endorsement to review it and tap Accept to add it to their logbook.
