To troubleshoot a problem where the GPS position is not showing on a plate or airport diagram, follow these steps:
STEP 1. Check the subscription level used.
Is the subscription in use either ForeFlight Pro Plus or Performance Plus? To check the subscription, go to More > Account in ForeFlight Mobile.

- No: Upgrade your subscription at ForeFlight.com/buy.
- Yes: Proceed to Step 2.
STEP 2. Check that the plate is geo-referenced.
Is the geo-referencing problem affecting all plates?

- No: Some plates may not be geo-referenced for various reasons. To see if a plate or diagram is geo-referenced, refer to How can I tell if a plate or diagram has geo-referencing?
- Yes: Proceed to step 3.
STEP 3: Check the plate expiration date.
Is the plate current (not expired)?

- No: Expired plates disable geo-referencing. Download the latest charts. For help, see: How do I set up and update my downloads?
- Yes: Proceed to Step 4.
STEP 4: Check that Enable Ownship is set correctly.
Is Enable Ownship set to Always? This setting can be checked in the app by going to More > Settings > Enable Ownship.

- No: Enable it in More > Settings > Enable Ownship.
- Yes: Proceed to Step 5.
STEP 5: Check that the GPS is functioning.
Is the GPS showing the GPS position on the Maps page?

- No: Troubleshoot using these articles:
- Yes: Proceed to Step 6.
STEP 6: Check that Airport Data is downloaded.
Is the Airport and Nav Database up to date? Check this in More > Downloads.
- No: Download the current database. See How do I set up and update my downloads?
- Yes: Contact the Pilot Support Team for further assistance.
