Each dot on the CDI represents 1 NM of cross track deviation. The dots will be removed when cross track becomes greater than 2 NM. When the dots are removed, text will display on the CDI showing the Cross Track Deviation mileage.
Cross Track relative to course is based upon GPS position. Also, at this time, there is no terminal mode (sensitivity) scaling.
