ForeFlight's Synthetic Vision will not show runways if there is no geo-referenced runway data. Terrain may also obscure the viewing of a runway.
To test whether a runway should appear in Synthetic Vision, do the following:
- Open ForeFlight Mobile.
- Select the More page.
- Select Settings.
- Verify the Extended Centerlines setting is turned on.
- Go to the Maps page.
- Tap the FPL button.
- Select the Edit button in the FPL viewer.
- Add an airport to test to a route.
If an airport has extended centerlines available and no terrain is blocking the view, then the runway will be displayed within Synthetic Vision.
The runway will not show within Synthetic Vision if no extended centerlines appear.
If a runway is obscured by terrain, the runway may not show in the app even though extended centerlines and the airport marker are displayed. The runway will show when there is no longer an obscuration.
