What needs to be done to use Synthetic Vision on an iPad?

To use Synthetic Vision on an iPad, follow these steps:

STEP 1. Open ForeFlight Mobile.

STEP 2. Navigate to More > Downloads > Data Settings.

STEP 3. Turn the High-Resolution Basemap and Terrain switches to On for the areas of interest.

STEP 4. Tap the back button to return to the Downloads menu.

STEP 5. Tap the Download button to download the high-resolution terrain data.

STEP 6. Go to the Maps page.

STEP 7. Tap the Synthetic Vision button (located at the top and resembling a banked attitude indicator) to display the Synthetic Vision view.

NOTE: For pitch and roll information, use an external AHRS (Attitude Heading Reference System) unit, such as the Sentry. Without an AHRS unit, Synthetic Vision will display terrain and obstacles, but no attitude (pitch/roll) information.
