Follow these steps to file Military Training Routes (MTRs) or Aerial Refueling (AR) Routes in ForeFlight:

STEP 1. Open ForeFlight Mobile.

STEP 2. Go to the Maps view.

STEP 3. Tap the FPL button.

STEP 4. Tap Edit within the FPL editor.

STEP 5. Enter a Route that includes the following:

• • Departure airport.
  • Route (including the name of the MTR or AR route). Avoid adding entry or exit waypoints for the MTR/AR route.
  • Destination airport.

STEP 6. View the route on the map to confirm it is correct.

STEP 7. Select the Send To button (square with an up arrow).

STEP 8. Select Flights. ForeFlight will format the route for filing.

STEP 9. Review the Flights form.

STEP 10. Select Proceed to File.

STEP 11. Review the flight plan form.

STEP 12. Select File.

Alternate Filing Method for Rejections

If the route is rejected, follow this alternate method:

STEP 1. Open ForeFlight Mobile.

STEP 2. Go to the Maps view.

STEP 3. Tap the FPL button.

STEP 4. Tap Edit within the FPL editor.

STEP 5. Enter a Route that includes the following:

• Departure airport.
• Route: Enter the route using the entry and exit waypoints for the MTR/AR route, not the MTR/AR route name.
• Destination airport.

STEP 6. View the route on the map to confirm it is correct.

STEP 7. Select the Send To button (square with an up arrow).

STEP 8. Select Flights. ForeFlight will format the route for filing.

STEP 9. Review the Flights form.

STEP 10. Select Proceed to File.

STEP 11. Add the route name in the Remarks section of the flight plan.

STEP 12. Review the rest of the flight plan form.

STEP 13. Select File.

This ensures the route details are still included for ATC while maintaining compatibility with the filing system.

• Route: PYNON PUB/030/215 PUB/020/359 FSHER
• Destination: KPUB
• Remarks: FUELING ON ARXXX SEE ROUTE FOR ENTRY AND EXIT
