In the CloudAhoy Organization Manager, aircraft types and their associated characteristics (V-Speeds, VREF Calculations, etc.) can be defined. See this article for details:
How do I set up the "Aircraft Type & V-Speeds" section in the Organization Manager Aircraft tab?
Once an aircraft type has been created, that aircraft type, and its characteristic, can be associated with an aircraft make and model that comes in from an external source. This can be useful in scenarios such as:
- A simulator reports the make and model in a format that is not standard.
- Multiple make and model conventions that are the same Aircraft Type.
To associate a make and model with an aircraft type, the administrator needs to know exactly what the make and model reported by the external source is. One method to find the provided make and model name is to look at a flight that was already logged in CloudAhoy. To do so, follow these steps:
- Log into the CloudAhoy website.
- Select the Flights tab.
- Select a flight from the list that has the make and model information.
- Look at the Aircraft section to find the reported make (Manufacturer) and model.
The aircraft make (Manufacturer) and model can be found in a flight.
Once the name used for the make and model is established, follow these steps to associate the make and model with an aircraft type defined on the organization account:
- Go to the CloudAhoy Organization Manager.
- Click on the Aircraft tab.
- Scroll to the Associate Make/Model with Aircraft Type section.
- Enter the Make.
- Enter the Model.
- Select the aircraft type to associate with the make and model.
- Provide optional comments.
- Select Save Changes.
A make and model is associated with an organization-defined aircraft type.
