The creation of a KML Shape File containing user waypoints allows you to keep all your waypoints displayed on the map. Without using a KML shape file, ForeFlight will dynamically declutter uploaded user waypoints on the map view. KML Shape Files do not declutter and allows the user to perform extensive customization (i.e., colors, icons) to differentiate waypoints from one another graphically.
To load user waypoints already loaded into ForeFlight Mobile into a KML Shape File for inclusion in ForeFlight Mobile as a map layer, use the following steps.
Converting In-app User waypoints to a Shape File
Step 1. Open ForeFlight and go to MORE > CUSTOM CONTENT > USER WAYPOINTS. Select the SEND TO button (Square with an up arrow) and then the MAIL button.
