The lift-off speed provided in many Pilot Operating Handbooks (POH) and checklists typically reflects the speed at the maximum takeoff weight. However, an aircraft departing at a weight below the maximum takeoff weight can achieve lift-off at a lower speed.
ForeFlight's Runway Performance feature calculates lift-off speed based on:
- The aircraft's performance data.
- The actual calculated takeoff weight for the flight.
When the calculated takeoff weight is less than the maximum gross takeoff weight, the lift-off speed may be lower than the single value published in the general section of the POH. For precise lift-off speeds, refer to the Performance section of the aircraft's POH.
