ForeFlight does not automatically select the runway surface type based on the selected runway. Aircraft manufacturers often use varying terminology, such as “Grass Runway,” “Dry Grass,” or “Wet Grass,” with some offering multiple performance charts for different grass depths. Due to these variations, pilots must manually select the runway surface type that best matches their specific conditions. This ensures performance calculations align with the aircraft’s operational limitations and environmental factors.
