In the terrain profile view, there may be an "XTE > #.#NM" notation presented. This notation is displayed when your current GPS position is greater than 1/2 of the selected total corridor width relative to the active leg regardless of whether you are airborne or stationary on the ground.
Image 1. The XTE notation is displayed when your position is greater than 1/2 of the selected corridor width relative to the active leg.
If your current GPS position is less than 1/2 of your total corridor width relative to the active leg, then no XTE notation is displayed.
Image 2. The XTE notation is not displayed when your position is within 1/2 of the selected corridor width relative to the active leg.
The XTE notation is displayed to notify you when your current GPS position is outside of the corridor width you have selected so that you know the terrain clearance information does not apply to your present position.
