STEP 1: Check Wi-Fi Settings
Is Wi-Fi turned on?
To check:
- Open the iPad or iPhone Settings app.
- Tap Wi-Fi.
- Ensure Wi-Fi is turned On.
- No: Turn Wi-Fi ON in the Settings app.
- Yes: Proceed to the next step.
STEP 2: Confirm GPS Receiver Connection
Is the Wi-Fi GPS receiver connected?
To check:
- Open the iPad or iPhone Settings app.
- Tap Wi-Fi.
- Verify the GPS receiver appears as the connected Wi-Fi network.
- No: Connect the Wi-Fi GPS receiver following the manufacturer's instructions.
- Yes: Proceed to the next step.
STEP 3: Check GPS Receiver Sky Visibility
Does the GPS receiver have a clear view of the sky?
- No: Relocate the receiver to minimize obstructions.
- Yes: Proceed to the next step.
STEP 4: Check Enable Ownship in ForeFlight
Is Enable Ownship set to Always in ForeFlight Mobile?
To check:
Open ForeFlight Mobile.
Go to More > Settings.
Scroll to Enable Ownship and confirm it is set to Always.
- No: Change Enable Ownship to Always.
- Yes: Proceed to the next step.
STEP 5: Restart ForeFlight Mobile
Does restarting ForeFlight Mobile resolve the issue? Refer to the articles:
To check:
- Exit ForeFlight Mobile.
- Swipe the app off the screen to fully close it.
- Reopen ForeFlight Mobile.
- No: Proceed to the next step.
- Yes: Troubleshooting is complete.
STEP 6: Restart the iPad or iPhone
Does restarting the device resolve the issue?
