To receive winds aloft calculations on the Maps page NavLog, the following criteria must be met:
- A route is entered into the FPL editor.
- A true airspeed is set for the aircraft profile selected in the NavLog.
- An altitude is selected in the NavLog.
- An Estimated Time of Departure (ETD) is selected. If no ETD is provided, ForeFlight Mobile assumes an immediate ETD.
- A connection to the Internet or an ADS-B receiver that is receiving winds aloft is established. If using an internet connection, once a forecast has been downloaded, it will be saved for a few hours for use when offline (in flight).
NOTE: To see the route without wind adjustments, select an ETD that is 7 days or more into the future. That will cause the calculations to be based on zero winds at ISA.
