In the NavLog, waypoints formatted as “100-[Waypoint ID]” (e.g., “100-DLN”) are virtual waypoints added for route segments exceeding 100 NM. These waypoints provide checkpoints for tracking time and fuel burn on long segments, helping pilots identify unexpected changes in progress or fuel consumption.
For example, on a flight planned as KBIL ASHUW DLN KBKE, the segment between ASHUW and DLN is 115 NM, so “100-DLN” is added 100 NM before DLN. The leg between DLN and KBKE is 225 NM, so “200-KBKE” and “100-KBKE” are added 200 NM and 100 NM before KBKE, respectively.
