Most standard U.S. aviation insurance policies provide coverage within the contiguous United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Bahamas. Flights outside these areas may require a territorial extension.
Mexico has additional insurance requirements. Although Mexico may be included within the policy coverage territory, Mexican law requires aircraft insurance coverage issued through a Mexican insurer. A separate Mexican policy may therefore be required before operating in Mexico.
