An Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) test report cannot be provided because EMI testing is aircraft-specific and depends on the aircraft systems and installation environment in which the device is used. As a result, Jeppesen ForeFlight cannot perform testing that satisfies all aircraft configurations and operational approval requirements.
TPED-Compliant Aircraft
If the aircraft is Portable Electronic Device (TPED) compliant, additional EMI testing is generally not required. Contact the aircraft manufacturer to determine whether a specific aircraft is TPED compliant. Many newer aircraft are delivered from the factory with TPED compliance.
Non-TPED-Compliant Aircraft
If the aircraft is not TPED compliant, EMI testing must be performed on the aircraft in which the device will be used. The operator is responsible for ensuring that any required testing is completed in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
