A “Too many devices” pop-up appears when the maximum number of allowed devices allowed on a ForeFlight account has been reached. Resolution steps depend on whether the account is a Group subscription (used by multiple pilots in an organization) or an Individual subscription (licensed for one pilot).
Group Accounts
Group accounts display this message when the account has reached its assigned device limit.
Contact the account administrator to:
- Remove unused devices from the account, or
- Purchase additional licenses to expand device access.
To manually remove a device (if authorized):
1. Open ForeFlight Mobile.
2. Attempt to sign in.
3. On the “Too many devices” screen, tap Manage.
4. Review the device list and tap Remove next to the unused device.
5. Confirm that the device is safe to remove and that organizational approval has been obtained
6. Proceed to sign in.
IMPORTANT: Ensure ForeFlight is not active on the device being removed and that removal is approved by the organization’s authority.
Individual Accounts
Individual subscriptions allow one pilot to use:
- 2 iPads and 1 iPhone, or
- 2 iPhones and 1 iPad.
The iPads and iPhones can be any mix of models, and all devices are to be used by the same pilot.
Devices can be removed using ForeFlight Mobile or ForeFlight on the Web.
