Prepar3D Version 4.x or 5.x
Requirements
- Prepar3D Version 4.x or 5.x (or newer)
- WiFi network
Setup
STEP 1. Open the Application Options dialog box.
STEP 2. On the Options menu.
STEP 3. Click General.
STEP 4. Click the Application tab.
STEP 5. In version 5.x, enable Enable GPS Data Transmission. In version 4.x, enable Broadcast GPS data to network.
STEP 6. Connect the iOS device running ForeFlight to the same WiFi network as the PC running Prepar3D.
IMPORTANT:
- In Prepar3D, to send data to a specific iPad, choose Send GPS data and enter the iPad’s IP address. Find this IP address by tapping the “i” icon in More > Devices in ForeFlight Mobile.
- In Prepar3D, to send data to all iPads on the network, select Broadcast GPS data.
STEP 7. Open ForeFlight Mobile.
STEP 8. Go to More > Devices.
STEP 9. Tap the Prepar3D tile.
STEP 10. Slide the Enabled switch On.

Prepar3D Versions Older than 4.0
ForeFlight can connect to older versions of Prepar3D using MindStar GpsVR, FlightSimGPS, or FSXflight (FSXFlight is no longer available for sale).
Requirements

- FSUIPC (required for FlightSimGPS but not for MindStar GpsVR)
- .NET Framework 4
- WiFi network for iOS device
Setup
STEP 1. Download FSXFlight.zip using the link provided in the receipt.
STEP 2. Extract FSXFlight.exe to a preferred location on the Flight Simulator PC.
STEP 3. Start the flight simulator of choice.
STEP 4. Start a flight either on the ramp or in the air.
STEP 5. Ensure that FSUIPC is installed by checking in the Add-ons menu.
STEP 6. Start FSXFlight. FSXFlight should indicate Connected to FSX when it detects the running simulator.
STEP 7. Ensure the iOS device running ForeFlight is connected to the same WiFi network as the simulator PC.
STEP 8. Open ForeFlight Mobile.
STEP 9. Navigate to More > Devices.
STEP 10. Select FSXFlight.
STEP 11. Slide the Enabled switch On.
