To receive Expected Route notifications in ForeFlight for a blocked tail number, ensure the aircraft's data is not blocked at the FAA source level.
FAA Blocking Options
The FAA offers two levels for blocking tail number:
- FAA Source-Level Blocking: Aircraft data is completely hidden from all FAA vendors, including ForeFlight. Under this level of blocking, Expected Route notifications cannot be retrieved for blocked tail numbers.
-
Subscriber-Level Blocking: Aircraft data is visible to FAA-approved vendors, including ForeFlight. When this level of blocking is selected, ForeFlight can retrieve and display Expected Route notifications. Notifications will appear as a pop-up in ForeFlight Mobile.
How to Enable Expected Route Notifications
To receive Expected Route notifications, request Subscriber-Level Blocking or remove blocking altogether by submitting a request through the FAA's LADD Request Page.
