Yes, ForeFlight can display indicated altitude, also known as baro-corrected pressure altitude, through the Altitude Tape in the AHRS view and the Baro Altitude instrument at the bottom of the Maps view. To use this feature, ForeFlight must be connected to an ADS-B In device with a barometric pressure sensor, such as Sentry, as ForeFlight does not use the barometric pressure sensors in some iOS devices.
ForeFlight converts pressure altitude to indicated altitude using various data sources:
- ADS-B data from an ownship target or nearby traffic.
- Altimeter settings from the nearest METAR report within 100 nautical miles.
Throughout the app, indicated altitude is referred to as "baro-corrected pressure altitude," "baro altitude," or "BARO ALT."
