Selecting the correct aircraft type is essential for accurate flight planning. It is important to ensure that the selected type matches the correct serial number range, supplemental type certificate (STC), gross weight increase (GWI), or engine type, if applicable. Follow these steps to select the appropriate aircraft type:
STEP 1. Open ForeFlight Mobile.
STEP 2. Select More.
STEP 3. Tap on Aircraft.
STEP 4. Select an aircraft to edit.
STEP 5. Tap Aircraft Type.
STEP 6. Use the search bar to look up the aircraft by make, model, or ICAO-type code.
STEP 7. Review the search results and locate the aircraft type with the correct type code, serial number, STC, GWI, or engine type. This information is displayed in the second row below the aircraft type code (e.g., PT6-41 Centex STC SA11103SC).
STEP 8. Tap the correct variant to select the aircraft type. The view will go back to the aircraft setup view.
STEP 9. Scroll to the Weights section of the aircraft profile to ensure accurate weight limits. If they are incorrect, consider selecting a different aircraft type that more closely matches the aircraft.
NOTE: Aircraft types with prebuilt Weight & Balance profiles display a W&B Template Available label.
NOTE: When adding an aircraft to a performance-tier account, aircraft with prebuilt performance profiles display a label with the number of ForeFlight Performance Profiles available.
