The GPS device listed in a ForeFlight Track Log might not be the one used for the entire flight. ForeFlight records the first GPS source connected when the Track Log recording starts. The first data point may be recorded using the GPS source available up to 30 minutes before takeoff. As a result, the listed GPS source is often the iOS device.
If an external GPS receiver connects after the first data point is recorded, ForeFlight will switch to using this device for GPS data from that point onward. However, the Track Log will still show the original GPS source for the first recorded data point.
