If Synthetic Vision isn’t working on an iPhone, try these troubleshooting steps:
Verify iPhone Model Compatibility
Synthetic Vision is not available on iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, or iPhone SE.
Check the ForeFlight Version Being Used
Synthetic Vision requires using ForeFlight Mobile EFB version 10.5 or higher. To verify the app version in use:
- Open ForeFlight Mobile.
- Go to More.
- Select About. Update via the Apple App Store if needed.
Check the ForeFlight Subscription Level
Synthetic Vision requires an active ForeFlight Pro Plus, Performance Plus, or Business subscription. To see what plan is being used:
- Open ForeFlight Mobile.
- Go to More.
- Tap Account.
- Look at the Current Subscription section. If needed, to upgrade the plan, visit foreflight.com/pricing.
Download High-Resolution Terrain
Synthetic Vision requires High-Resolution Terrain data. To download:
- Open ForeFlight Mobile.
- Go to More.
- Select Downloads.
- Tap on Data Settings.
- Slide the switch On next to the desired geographic region under the High Resolution Basemap and Terrain header.
- Select the Back button.
- Tap the blue Download button on the Downloads page to download the terrain data.
Set Display to Default
Synthetic Vision for iPhone may require that the display be set to Default. To check this setting, follow these steps:
- Open the Settings App.
- Go to Display & Brightness > Display Zoom.
- Select Default.
