When creating a Simulator, you will see a shortened list of fields compared to an Aircraft. Each of these fields serve a purpose and are needed to ensure ForeFlight reporting and currencies are updated accurately:
- Equipment Type: Controls whether you are creating a simulator or aircraft.
- Simulator Name: This is the primary naming field for the simulator and shown on all reports and Logbook entries. We recommend using a descriptive name for easy differentiation between your aircrafts and simulators.
- Represented Aircraft Type: Used to signify which aircraft type this simulator is representing. This field will be referenced to associate Logbook data to update currencies that are aircraft type specific (example: FAA 61.56 currency). This field will also be shown in parenthesis in Logbook entries and reports
Represented Aircraft Category/Class: Selection of represented Aircraft Category/Class for this Simulator. This field will be referenced to associate Logbook data to update currencies that are Category and Class specific (example: General, Night and Type currency)
