What's the difference between the "Cleared as filed" vs "Expected Route" messages received in ForeFlight

Cleared as Filed vs Expected Route

Cleared as Filed - This means the routing will be what the pilot originally filed in their flight plan (or as later amended) and does not relate to an expected clearance. Routing that is "cleared as filed" is an ATC function.

Expected Route - ForeFlight generates the "expected route" email and push messages independent of the ATC system.  The ATC controller does not know what the pilot received from us. This routing is based on historical data for flights that were flown between airport pairings.
