When filing a round-robin flight plan, where the departure and destination airports are the same, the flight plan must include a waypoint in the route field. This waypoint can be a navaid, a navigation waypoint, or even an airport.
NOTE: If an airport is used as a waypoint in the route on the Flights page, it must be prefaced with "DCT" (Direct). Use "DCT" only in the flight plan on the Flights page, as adding it in the NavLog on the Maps page will treat "DCT" as a waypoint rather than indicating "Direct To."
Examples:
Example 1: A round-robin flight from KGTF to a point 50 miles east and then back with no landing in between should include a waypoint like this:
Route: KGTF → [waypoint] → KGTF
Example 2: A round-robin flight from KGTF, flying over an airport 80 miles east, and then back with no landing in between, should include "DCT" before the airport being used as a waypoint:
Route: KGTF → DCT [airport] → KGTF
