To pair a Garmin GNS 400W/430W or 500W/530W with an iPad running ForeFlight Mobile, the following items are required:
- A Garmin Flight Stream 210.
- GNS software version 5.20 or later.
To pair a Garmin Flight Stream 210 with an iPad with ForeFlight Mobile installed via Bluetooth, perform the following:
STEP 1. From the GNS unit, go to the Aux > Connect page.
STEP 2. Select Bluetooth Status.
STEP 3. On the iPad, open the Settings app.
STEP 4. Select Bluetooth.
STEP 5. Under MY DEVICES, select the Flight Stream device name.
STEP 6. On the GNS' Bluetooth Status page selected in Step 1 above, a pop-up window will appear with the options to either allow or deny pairing. Select ENT to allow the iPad to pair with the GNS unit.
Once pairing is complete, the iPad's name will be displayed within the GNS on the Bluetooth Status page under Paired Devices. Devices that have been paired with the GNS have a filled-in square next to them. If the square is not filled in, the device is available but not paired with the GNS.
STEP 7. Once the iPad is paired with the GNS system, open ForeFlight and view the connection under More > Devices. A Garmin Connext tile will be seen indicating that the connection is established and lists the data being received through the Flight Stream.
NOTE: If the Garmin Connext box is not visible, forget the Bluetooth connection using the GNS and then try pairing again.
