Why does my altitude advisor show a "No climb data" message?

The most common reason for getting a "No climb data" message in your Altitude Advisor is due to entering a user waypoint at either the beginning our end of your route.

The Altitude Advisor needs the first and last waypoints in a route to be airports because these waypoints have altitude information associated with them.  This is critical in being able to determine climb performance data.
