To troubleshoot a problem where your GPS position is not being shown on a plate or airport diagram, use the steps below.
STEP 1. Do you have a ForeFlight Pro Plus or Performance Plus subscription?
To determine your subscription, open ForeFlight Mobile, tap More > Account and look in the Current Subscription section.
No: Stop here. Basic Plus subscriptions do provide geo-referenced plates and diagrams. You will need to upgrade your subscription. To upgrade, visit www.foreflight.com/buy
Yes: Continue to step 2.
STEP 2. Is the geo-referencing problem associated with all plates, (i.e.: not just one plate, or multiple plates for one airport)?
To identify whether a given plate is geo-referenced, see the article:
How can I tell if a plate or diagram has geo-referencing?
No: Stop here: Some approach plates are not geo-referenced. This usually has to do with an error made by the FAA regarding that scale or the correct location of waypoints.
Yes: Continue to step 3.
STEP 3. Is the Approach plate in question current (not expired)?
To determine if a plate is current, read the date displayed on the right side of the plate. Is the plate current?
No: Stop here. Expired plates will cause geo-referencing to be disabled. Download the latest charts and delete expired charts. For more information, see the article:
