ForeFlight assumes arm values increase as they move aft in the aircraft. If the arm values in the weight and balance profile decrease instead, the associated signs (+ or -) for datum-referenced arm values must be reversed.
Steps to Adjust Arm Values
To adjust arm values that decrease when moving aft, do the following:
- Reverse the sign for each arm value:
- Example: An arm value of -62 inches becomes +62 inches.
- Reverse the sign for the empty moment:
- Example: An empty moment of 13,751.3 becomes -13,751.3.
These adjustments ensure the weight and balance profile functions correctly within ForeFlight. The Loading Summary will appear reversed (e.g., positive and negative signs flipped), but the graph and summary section will display as expected.
