The Plates view in ForeFlight Mobile offers two types of binders for organizing charts:
- Flight Binders are used to organize plates for a specific flight and can be generated from the Maps, Flights, and Plates views.
- Other Binders are used for an unstructured collection of plates.
Flight Binders
Flight Binders can be created from the Maps view, Flights view, or from a blank template on the Plates view as follows:
Maps View - Generating a Flight Binder
To generate a Flight Binder from the Maps view, do the following:
- Go to the Maps page.
- Tap FPL.
- Tap Edit within the FPL drawer.
- Create a flight with departure and destination airports.
- At the bottom of the FPL Editor, tap the Send To button.
- Choose Plates to send the route to the Plates view as a new Flight Binder (Tap Binders to see the list of Flight Binders).
Flights View - Generating a Flight Binder
To generate a Flight Binder from the Flights view, do the following:
- Go to the Flights page.
- Create a flight with departure and destination airports, or select an existing flight.
- Tap the Send To button in the upper right.
- Choose Plates to send the route to the Plates view as a new Flight Binder (Tap Binders to see the list of Flight Binders).
Blank Template - Generating a Flight Binder
A Flight Binder can be made without creating a route first by following these steps:
- Go to the Plates page.
- Tap Binders to expand the Binders Drawer on the left (if not already shown).
- Tap Add Flight Binder.
- Tap add an empty binder to generate a blank binder.
- Select an Airport to add it to the binder.
Manually add airports and plates to the new blank Flight Binder template.
Other Binders
To create an Other Binder in the Plates view, do the following:
- Go to the Plates page.
- Tap Binders to expand the Binders Drawer on the left (if not already shown).
- Tap Add Other Binder.
- Enter a name for the binder.
- Select Save.
Plates can be added to the new Binder by tapping the + ADD PLATE box.
