Canadian state aircraft or foreign state aircraft covered by a diplomatic note or formal agreement whose aircraft are not equipped to meet the requirements of the Canadian ADS-B mandate will need to update their aircraft profiles before filing a flight plan. This can be done through ForeFlight Mobile or using ForeFlight on the Web.
ForeFlight Mobile
To update the surveillance codes for an aircraft in ForeFlight Mobile, follow these steps:
- Open ForeFlight Mobile.
- Select More in the lower right corner.
- Select Aircraft.
- Select the aircraft to update from the list.
- Scroll down to the Filing section and select Other Information in the Filing section.
- In the popover, scroll down and tap on the SUR field.
- Enter "CANADSBX".
- Close the popover and select STS Special Handling.
- Select STATE - Military/police.
NOTE: Other keywords may be specified in SUR. A single space character must separate each keyword. Any order of keywords is acceptable.
ForeFlight Web
To update the surveillance codes for an aircraft in ForeFlight on the Web, follow these steps:
- Sign in to your ForeFlight account on ForeFlight on the Web.
- Select Aircraft.
- Choose the aircraft to update from the list.
- Scroll down to the Filing section, and under STS Special Handling, check the box next to STATE - Military/police.
- Under Other Information in the SUR field, add "CANADSBX."
NOTE: Other keywords may be specified in SUR. A single space character must separate each keyword. Any order of keywords is acceptable.
