ForeFlight customers whose aircraft are equipped to meet the requirements of the Canadian ADS-B mandate will need to update their aircraft profile surveillance codes before filing a flight plan. This can be done through ForeFlight Mobile or using ForeFlight on the Web.
ForeFlight Mobile
To update the surveillance codes for an aircraft in ForeFlight Mobile, follow these steps:
- Open ForeFlight Mobile.
- Select More in the lower right corner.
- Select Aircraft.
- Select the aircraft to update from the list.
- Scroll down to the Filing section and select ICAO Surveillance.
- In the pop-up box, select either B1 or B2, depending on your equipment.
- Close that box and select Other Information in the Filing section.
- In the pop-over, scroll down and tap on the SUR field.
- Enter "260B CANMANDATE".
NOTE: Other keywords may be specified in SUR. A single space character must separate each keyword. Any order of keywords is acceptable, so either “260B CANMANDATE” or “CANMANDATE 260B” would be acceptable.
ForeFlight Web
To update the surveillance codes for an aircraft in ForeFlight on the Web, follow these steps:
- Sign in to your ForeFlight account on ForeFlight on the Web.
- Select Aircraft.
- Choose the aircraft to update from the list.
- Scroll down to the Filing section, and under ICAO Surveillance Codes, select either B1 or B2, depending on the installed equipment.
- Under Other Information in the SUR field, add "260B CANMANDATE".
NOTE: Other keywords may be specified in SUR. A single space character must separate each keyword. Any order of keywords is acceptable, so either “260B CANMANDATE” or “CANMANDATE 260B” would be acceptable.
