ForeFlight Mobile Performance Plus or Business Performance subscribers can send routes to panel avionics in Pilatus PC-12 and PC-24 aircraft equipped with both a Honeywell Apex FMS and an Aspen Connected Gateway (CG100P/GC200P).
Connection Setup
Before sending a route, a connection between ForeFlight Mobile and the Aspen Connected Gateway must be established using the following steps:
- Open the iPad or iPhone’s Settings app.
- Select Wi-Fi.
- Connect to the Aspen Connected Gateway’s Wi-Fi network.
- Open ForeFlight Mobile.
- Go to More > Devices. If connected, the Aspen CG100P/GC200P tile will appear.
Preferred Route Sending Method
The preferred method for sending a route to the panel using the Aspen Connected Gateway is from the Flights page following these steps:
- Open ForeFlight Mobile.
- Open the Flights page.
- Tap the Send To button in the upper-right corner.
- Select ((+)) Panel. A confirmation pop-up will display once the route is successfully transferred.
Alternate Route Sending Method
An alternate method for sending a route to the panel using the Aspen Connected Gateway is from the Maps page following these steps:
- Open ForeFlight Mobile.
- Go to the Maps page.
- Tap the FPL button to open the Flight Plan Editor.
- Select the Edit button in the FPL drawer.
- Enter a route.
- Tap the ((+)) Panel button.
- Select Send to Panel to transfer the route.
IMPORTANT
- SIDs, STARs, and Approaches: These procedures cannot be transferred and will be automatically removed during the route transfer. A reminder pop-up will appear.
- Airways: Airways are converted into individual waypoints when sent to the panel.
Loading the Route into the Apex FMS
After transferring the route, it must be loaded into the Honeywell Apex FMS following these steps:
- Set the FPLN Source to “Gateway.”
- Select the flight from the FPLN List in the FMS.
Clearing Routes from the Aspen Connected Gateway
New routes cannot be transferred if the Aspen CG100P/GC200P SD card becomes full. To clear the stored routes:
- Open ForeFlight Mobile.
- Go to More > Devices.
- Tap the Aspen CG100P/GC200P tile.
- Select Delete stored flight plans to clear all routes on the SD card.
IMPORTANT: Deleting stored flight plans will remove all routes from the Aspen Connected Gateway.
