Track Logs will automatically stop recording 15 minutes after a landing is detected unless another takeoff is detected within the 15 minutes to account for touch-and-go and full-stop taxi back landings. A landing is detected when:
- The groundspeed slows from above 60 knots to less than 40 knots;
- The height of the aircraft descends from above to below 250 feet AGL.
In addition to the landing criteria discussed above, Track Logs also automatically stop when any of the following conditions exist:
- ForeFlight is closed, and no GPS data is received for 2 minutes. This is common when using a Wi-Fi only iPad and a Wi-Fi connected external GPS receiver. With such a setup, GPS data from the Wi-Fi connected receiver cannot be accessed when ForeFlight is inactive.
- A landing is not detected, but groundspeed is below 40 knots for two minutes or more.
